I started using Advocare products in January 2016 when I started my first 24-day challenge. I was fairly skeptical, but after months of watching several of my friends using the products and getting results, I decided to give it a try.
I ended up losing 12 pounds on the cleanse, but more importantly, I noticed a HUGE difference right away with my energy level. During the 1st 10 days of the cleanse, there are several foods that are not allowed, and coffee is one of them. I knew this going in, and was a bit nervous but wanted to stay on track as diligently as possible. I was pleasantly surprised when realized I felt fabulous drinking the Spark. I didn't get the stomach upset and actually felt a little more revived than I did drinking Spark as opposed to coffee. I decided after the 10 days, I'd add coffee in for the remaining 14 days of the challenge. Well, day 11 came and went. Still no desire to grab my usual AM coffee.
Then came the supplements. Again, I hate pills. Wasn't excited AT ALL to take them. But, as I said, I knew it was only 24 days and I wanted to give it my all. I finished my first packet and to my surprise, I felt GREAT. My husband noticed I didn't seem as "down" and he felt my energy level was beyond what he had seen from me in a long, long time. At that point I thought, well, I can take these for 14 days, no problem.
Well, 14 days came and went and I ran out of the supplements, the shakes, AND the Spark. I went ONE DAY without the products and that's all I needed to be convinced that these items made such a difference in my life and feeling of well being. I immediately went online to order more and from there, decided to become a distributor so I could share with others what an impact this had made in my life.
My goal is to lose 50 pounds, and I'm at -17 at the moment (pictured below. *1st photo January 11, 2016. 2nd photo March 22, 2016). More importantly, I'm down 4 pant sizes and because of the weight loss I am no longer pre diabetic. What I love about this way of life is that the focus is on clean, healthy eating; NOT starving yourself or doing massive amounts of exercise. I had found in the past that going to the gym 5 times a week STILL wouldn't allow me to lose weight, because I wasn't focused on the eating part. Sure, I was lowering my calories and making good choices; I knew how to lose weight because I used to work in the weight loss industry and at one point studied to be a nutritionist; I had basic knowledge of what it takes to lose weight. I had been on numerous other programs and lost upwards of 50 pounds at one point after one of my pregnancies. However, as I got to be over 40, things got harder. The weight wasn't coming off. I knew I needed something different....something to get me going and motivate me to go where I knew I wanted to go.
I'm so thankful every day that instead of finding reasons to NOT try something new, I took a chance and said "yes". After months of watching other do it, and making up stories in my head of why I shouldn't try it, I did it. I feel a sense of motivation I haven't had in years. My energy level is higher than it was in my 30's. I no longer needs midday naps. And, as I mentioned before, the affect the weight loss has had on my medical issues, even at just 17 pounds, makes me so happy.
